Hi there! My name is Fernanda and I’m a Brazilian Translator and Proofreader. I translate from English and Spanish into Portuguese (BR), and some of my main specializations include Fine Arts, Music and Music Theory, Marketing, Business, E-learning, Tourism, and Media.
Language is essential when it comes to connecting Cultures. As a translator, I find it extremely important to have respect and appreciation for cultures different from mine – this way, I can seek the best representation of it in my translations. I’m always determined to break down misconceptions, stigmas, and other barriers that prevent cultural groups from being understood by others. Culture and Language constantly interplay, and understanding this relationship and how one ultimately affects the other is essential to making linguistic choices with greater accuracy and nuance.
Having immigrant grandparents has taught me the key role of language when integrating cultures. Witnessing their struggles made me the professional I am today: driven to use my language skills to bring the World closer together.
